Any word on a new stadium being built? I know there was some talk a while ago.
Ya they are performing a study at the moment about different options, and cost yadi yadi yada. Long story short, its between rennovation the Rob or building a new one from scratch.
Sad news is, they are only building to seat 40k, current one holds 32k. In my opinion, WTF is the point. Just do it right the first time!!! Sheesh...if we are ever going to get anywhere in that school! I think the heat is affecting ppls brains.

Heavy lifting = Earning millions for the league and delivering a $2 million dollar bowl for the conference just by being a member. Only one school in the new CUSA has done that.

Look, if you think Houston isn't doing heavy lifting for the conference this season, you're an idiot.

Winning big match-ups is worth a lot more to the conference than money. We can take big pay-outs all day long, but at the end of the day, if C-USA is looked at as a cupcake conference, then it's pointless.
The problem with your big match-up wins is they generate no money whatsoever. They're all well and good but at the end of the day only one school actually has generated major profits for CUSA. Money is tangible. You can spend it, rub your hands on it, use it to wipe your butt, etc....

Oh, geez...I'd hate to just give up the answer. Ok. I'll throw out hints. It's not a school in Texas and it's not Tulane.

It will be a freaking quilt LOL.
But seriously ... his COOL idea... and hte possibility of the students following through with a blackout theme is kind of a mixed message IMO.
But he/ECU releases a PR the day before about doing a split stadium idea.... and not even local media is pumping up his idea on the news? Sounds fishy to me.

More ranked teams means more TV time on major networks = better TV contract = more money for the conference.
It's okay though, you can continue to ignore the accomplishments of ECU, Tulsa, and Houston.

Exactly, UTEP hasn't done anything worthwhile to bring up the reputation of this conference. Didn't they lose like every non-conference game too? They are on their way to yet another terrible season, and sadly their only glimmer to this season will be their win against UH. They're not good, in fact overrated coming into this season, and their fans are bitter and just wanna **** on the teams that people outside of CUSA actually respect. If fans of schools like UTEP wanna say teams like UH and ECU aren't carrying this league right now, then i would love to see how they and the rest of this conference would carry on without UH, ECU, and Tulsa. Can anyone say Sun Belt II?

I don't understand why Southern Miss gets left out of these conversations. And you do have to give Memphis hoops credit for all they've accomplished.

Ah, yes that explains why the WAC has a tv contract that pays a third of the one CUSA has and half the bowl tie-ins. The WAC could have every team in their conference ranked(not that they will) but as long as their fan bases are smaller they will always get less money, less tv time, and less bowl games. Unless there is a significan't change in the size of CUSA's fan bases(and there won't be) it will still continue to get the same level of bowl games and tv contracts no matter how many overrated teams it has.

Ummm, WAC has only one team ranked in recent memory. In the past two seasons we have had three at one point or another (I believe).

It's unfortunate that y'all lost to Kansas, Texas, Buffalo, Memphis, and UAB. I really wanted this to be a good year for you guys, and it really sucks that y'all are looking at 5-7 or 6-6.

It's a disappointment but hopefully Price will be shown the door at the end of this season. We need a young coach who will take us to the next level. There's no excuse why the school with the 2nd largest fanbase in the nonBCS (after BYU), with one of the best on campus facilities and no competition from pro and BCS teams can't be successful in football.
